GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Mayor of Grand Rapids took part in a national conference call about youth employment from the White House on Thursday.
Mayor George Heartwell was on the line with 100 other elected officials to discuss youth employment.
Heartwell says he was invited because of the Mayor's 50 Program, a cost-sharing plan in Grand Rapids which helps businesses hire young workers, ages 15 to 21.
