JENISON, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A boy from Jenison is being honored by the Grandville-Jenison Chamber for his volunteer services during the recent flooding.
Saturday, Quinton Tomaszewski showed up with his parents to help a single mother clean up after flood waters destroyed her basement.
He helped fill two dumpsters with ruined items, and also helped fill sandbags.
On Monday, the Chamber surprised Quinton at school and awarded him the Future Leader in the Making award.
This isn't the first time Quinton has responded to need in his community, either.
He also helps out often at the local food pantry and raised hundreds of dollars for a young boy at his school with leukemia last year.
