KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - City leaders in Kalamazoo hope to hire a new city manager by the end of next month.
M-Live is reporting they have narrowed it down to 30 candidates and hope to narrow it down even further before the city commission starts reviewing applications in early May.
The city began looking for a new manager after Ken Collard announced he would resign at the end of this year or in early 2014.
Collard is one of more than 200 city employees taking part in an early retirement plan to help erase a 6-million dollar budget deficit.
