WRIGHT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Deputies in Ottawa County say there will be no charges filed against the owners of horses that were left standing in flood waters in Wright Township.
The sheriff's office received a complaint last Thursday about horses being left in rising water on Cleveland Street.
A deputy made arrangements to get the animals to dry ground and sent a veterinarian out to check them.
A dead horse was also found on the property, which caused the sheriff's office to open an animal welfare investigation.
Instead of charges deputies will be working with the owners of the horses to address areas of concern.
