BARRY COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Michigan State Police are investigating a suspicious situation and looking for help in identifying four men who may have followed a 15-year-old girl.
Troopers say they received a report from a 15-year-old girl who said she was followed by a group of unknown men while running in the 12000 block of 108th Street in Barry County’s Irving Township around 5:30 pm on Thursday April 4th.
The girl told troopers that she had been jogging when she realized that she was being followed by a red pick-up truck. The girl turned and ran to a neighbor’s house. While in the driveway she says one of the men got out of the truck and began approaching her.
The girl says she ran into the neighbor’s home, locked the door and called 911.
The truck then left, traveling eastbound toward Freeport, Michigan.
The vehicle is described as a newer red pick-up with four doors, and was either an extended cab or crew cab truck, possibly a Dodge.
Four men were inside the truck, the driver and front passenger are described as white males in their late 20s to early 30s. All four were wearing white t-shirts, as if they worked together.
A composite sketch of the driver is attached to this story. Anyone with information is asked to contact Michigan State Police’s Wayland post at 269-792-2213 or Barry County Silent Observer at 1-800-310-9031.
