Public forum to discuss clean-up alternatives at former Allied Paper site

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – A public forum will be held Monday night in Kalamazoo to address clean-up alternatives at the site of the former Allied Paper mill in Kalamazoo.
This comes after the EPA recently announced that it will not remove contaminated soil from the site.
The main concern for those holding the forum is that the site sits above the aquifer from which the city draws a major portion of its drinking water.
A panel of city leaders and hazardous material experts are now looking for public input.
They will be at the forum starting at 7:00 pm at the Bernhard Center at WMU.
