NEW YORK (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - New York state Senator Greg Ball is defending a tweet he made Friday night calling for the captured Boston Marathon bombing suspect to be tortured.
In the message, Ball asked -- quote -- "who wouldn't use torture on this punk to save more lives?"
The tweet drew criticism from many, but the republican lawmaker isn't backing down.
“If you look at this comment, what I posted on Facebook, it's what most red-blooded Americans are thinking. I'm not in this to be a career politician and if it means ruffling a few feathers, I've never shied away from that previously and I think it would certainly engage people in a pretty decent debate,” said Senator Greg Ball.
