Sewage spilling after flooding at Three Rivers treatment plant

THREE RIVERS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Officials in Three Rivers have notified the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency that sewage is spilling from a treatment plant in the city.
The sanitary sewer river crossing is at Broadway Street and was submerged around 10:00 a.m. Sunday. Since then about 900 gallons of sewage has been spilling per hour.
Workers at the treatment plant have not been able to stop the discharge.
A “No Contact” advisory has been issued for the river between Broadway Street to the Constantine Dam.
