FROST ADVISORY

UNTIL 9 AM

The National Weather Service maintains a FROST ADVISORY in Muskegon, Ottawa, Kent, Ionia, Allegan, Barry, Eaton, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun, Berrien, Cass, St. Joe, and Branch counties until 9 AM.  Early morning temperatures are already at or slightly above the freezing mark, which encourages frost.  It's reasonable for temperatures to fall through the 7 AM hour, and a light freeze is also possible.  Hopefully, plants and flowers were covered last night or brought inside for protection.

UPDATE: Power restored for 3,500 in the dark in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Power was restored around 5am Wednesday morning for more than 3.500 Consumer Energy customers.

Dispatchers tell Newschannel 3 a car slid on a patch of ice and crashed into a power pole at S. Drake and Driftwood.

The pole was cracked and had to be replaced.

There is no word on any injuries.
