WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY & WINTER STORM WARNING

SATURDAY EVENING THROUGH EARLY MONDAY

The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for all of West Michigan except counties along the Michigan-Indiana border, effective from 7 pm Saturday until 6 am Monday. A strong storm will be crossing the Ohio Valley Sunday, bringing snow to West Michigan, with some areas perhaps seeing as much as 10-12" of accumulation. Snowfall will be heaviest south as opposed to north, so along/south of I-94 is where the highest accumulations are expected... 6-10" possible. However, Allegan, Barry, Eaton, Ottawa, and Kent could see anywhere from 4-6". Additionally, gusty winds will be blowing the snow quite a bit, causing drifting on roads along with poor visibility. Travel is discouraged from late Saturday night through Sunday night.

The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER STORM WARNING for the following counties in West Michigan, effective from 7 pm Saturday until 4 am Monday: Berrien, Cass, St.Joseph, Branch, and Hillsdale. A strong winter storm moving into/across the Ohio Valley will bring periods of heavy snow to the Warning area, beginning late tonight and extending through at least Sunday evening. Forecast models indicate between 8 and 12" of accumulation are possible. Additionally, strong winds will cause blowing and drifting snow. Driving conditions will be hazardous Sunday. Travel is not encouraged.

WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement has announced the arrest of a Christian radio DJ, on state charges of criminal sexual conduct.

The arrest comes on the heels of an investigation by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations and the Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children.

Special agents and Michigan State Police troopers arrested 35-year-old John Balyo on Friday without incident.

He is being transported to Battle Creek, where he will be lodged at the Calhoun County Jail, pending arraignment on Monday.

He faces charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The investigation claims that Balyo paid a defendant to arrange sexual encounters with minors.

Battle Creek Police sources confirmed to Newschannel 3 Friday that Balyo's arrest is connected to a Department of Homeland Security bust that took place in Battle Creek around two weeks ago.

An alleged victim of 42-year-old Ronald Moser, the suspect in the Battle Creek case, was interviewed, and shared another possible sexual assault with another man.

Authorities were able to get enough of a description that the suspect could be identified as Balyo.

Battle Creek Police drove with Homeland Security drove up to Gaylord, Michigan to arrest Balyo, where sources tell Newshcannel 3 he was attending a christian music festival.

Balyo works as an on-air personality as Grand Rapids' Family Christian Radio station, WCSG.

WCSG General Manager Chris Lemke says that Balyo has been put on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation, adding they are "obviously saddened by the turn of events."
