CORTLAND, N.Y. (AP) - The New York Jets have agreed to terms on a two-year deal with free-agent defensive end Jason Babin, giving Rex Ryan's defense a veteran pass rusher.

Babin had 7 1/2 sacks last season for Jacksonville, and was released in the offseason.

The Jets, who reported for training camp Wednesday, released cornerback Lowell Rose to make room for Babin.

Guard Willie Colon and linebacker Antwan Barnes were each placed on the active/physically unable to perform list as they recover from knee surgeries.

Tight end Jeff Cumberland was excused for personal reasons, and will report to camp on Thursday - the first day of on-field practice. Cumberland wrote on Twitter that he was attending the funeral of a family member.
