DETROIT (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - We're getting a better look at the plans for an entertainment and residential complex center on a new Detroit Red Wings Hockey Arena.

The Illitch family, which is behind the complex, recently released sketches of their plans.

The new sports and entertainment district will be located in the area along and near Woodward Avenue.

The new Red Wings Arena will open in 2017.

The Illitch family also owns Detroit Tigers and the Fox Theatre.
