Bronco hockey team set to take on UM in CCHA quarters

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Bronco hockey fans had a long night if they waited up to see who their club would face in the second round of the CCHA playoffs.
MSU closed out its best of 3 series in Alaska at around 2:00 a.m., which means that the Spartans are headed to Oxford to play Miami(OH), U-of-M is headed to Lawson Arena.
The best of 3 series begins Friday night at 6:30.
The winner moves on to the conference final four at Joe Louis Arena on Saturday March 23rd.
WMU took 3 of 4 from the Wolverines this season, including a sweep in Kalamazoo in late December.
The Wolverines are arguably the hottest team in the CCHA, though, riding a six game unbeaten streak, including a dominating 6-2 victory over Northern Michigan to advance to the quarterfinals.
