EAST LANSING, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - With the Big Ten season winding down, Michigan State, like Michigan, still has a shot to share the league's regular season title.
The Spartans face Wisconsin Thursday night at the Breslin Center, hoping to pull within one game of the conference leading Indiana Hoosiers with one game to play.
MSU has dropped three straight, but this is no time to panic.
All came against ranked teams, and the combined total of the losses was 13 points (to No. 1 Indiana by 4, to No. 18 Ohio State by 8, and to No. 4 Michigan by 1). Two of the three were also on the road.
The team is going for a season sweep of a Wisconsin Badgers team that also has a chance to earn a piece of that regular season crown, and the loser tonight could find themselves in danger of not receiving a first round Big Ten Tournament bye.
But of more immediate concern for the green and white--getting back in the win column.
