KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Western Michigan Head Coach P.J. Fleck announced after practice Thursday that Zach Terrell will be the starting quarterback August 30 when the Broncos open the season at Purdue.

The sophomore from Fort Wayne has the most experience in the system, and appears to be the most poised running the offense.

He beat out fellow sophomore Cam Thomas, and true freshman Chance Stewart, out of Sturgis.

The decision doesn't come as a big surprise, however, but Terrell says he's ready for the challenge of leading the team against the Boilermakers.
