Red Wings re-sign Howard, Ericsson to 3-year deals
Comments 0 | Recommend 0DETROIT (AP) - The Detroit Red Wings have re-signed goaltender Jimmy Howard and defenseman Jonathan Ericsson to three-year contracts.
Team spokeswoman Lisa Hickok said Monday the contracts were filed over the weekend. She declined to discuss other details.
According to information posted on the NHL Players' Association Web site, Howard will earn $600,000 next season and Ericsson will make $550,000.
The 24-year-old Howard played four games for the Wings last season. Veteran goaltender Dominik Hasek retired last month. Chris Osgood will be back in net, and veteran Ty Conklin was signed July 1 to a one-year contract.
Ericsson is 24 and played eight games last season, scoring one goal.
