Happy Senior Night at U of M

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - DeShawn Sims scored 23 points Tuesday

night to help Michigan top Minnesota 83-55 in its home finale.

Manny Harris added 22 points for the Wolverines (14-15, 7-10 Big

Ten), who ended a three-game losing streak after taking control

with a 14-2 run midway through the first half.

Damian Johnson had 13 points and Colton Iverson 10 for Minnesota

(17-12, 8-9), which was swept by Michigan.

Sims and Harris did all the scoring during the decisive

first-half spurt that gave the Wolverines the lead for good.

Michigan, which struggled from behind the arc during its losing

streak, made seven of its 15 3-point attempts in the opening half

and led 43-29 at intermission.

Minnesota, on the bubble for an NCAA tournament at-large berth,

never got closer than 12 points in the second half.

Michigan finished the game 32-for-53 (60.4 percent) from the

floor, its best performance of the season
