Ex-Lion Rogers enters sobriety counseling program
Comments 0 | Recommend 0NOVI, Mich. (AP) - Former Detroit Lions and Michigan State receiver Charles Rogers is re-entering a special sobriety program after pleading guilty to drunken driving.
Rogers appeared Thursday before Novi District Judge Robert Bondy and entered the sobriety court program, which involves intensive counseling and testing.
The 28-year-old Saginaw native pleaded guilty in September to operating while visibly impaired in the Detroit suburb of Novi.
His sentencing will be delayed nine months as he completes the sobriety program.
The second overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft went to jail earlier this year for a 30-day sentence instead of remaining in the program after violating probation in a domestic violence case.
Messages were left for Rogers' lawyer, Justin Barnett.
