Fear Not K-Wings Fans

I run into K-Wings fans often, and the recent news of selling the team is not sitting well.

In all actuality, this deal is cooler than the ice at Wings Stadium. The new ownership is local and that's the key. The K-Wings aren't going anywhere and that's a simple fact.

Remember, sports even at the minor league level are a business. The K-Wings are a successful business and when a successful business isn't broke, you don't fix it.

Bill Johnson (President of Greenleaf Trust) obviously knows how to make a good investment. Of course with rumors of a new arena downtown, the home of the K-Wings could change in the long-term, and believe me it would be for the better, otherwise it won't happen. In the short-term, look for the same minor league hockey entertainment the city has enjoyed for the past 30 years.
