Brewing barrels restored at Bell’s

COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Woodworkers at Bell's Brewery Comstock location are rebuilding 100-year-old barrels once used by Stroh Brewing Company in Detroit.

The Kalamazoo Gazette reports that Bell's acquired the barrels last year.

They are eight-feet tall and 12-feet in diameter.

They were stored in a Detroit warehouse for more than 50 years.

According to the Gazette, the barrels will be used to make draught-only beers.
