Landlord of shooting victim arrested on homicide charges

ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Newschannel 3 has uncovered new information in an Allegan County murder investigation. A man questioned in the shooting death of one of his tenants has now been arrested for felony homicide.

Jody Snyder was found fatally shot inside a home he was renting in Valley Township nearly two weeks ago.

Now his landlord is behind bars at the Allegan County Jail.

Newschannel 3 received a tip about the arrest from Snyder's family members.

We confirmed through a Michigan Criminal Database that warrants were issued for Marion Conley on a felony homicide charge and one charge of obstructing police and deputies at the Allegan County Jail confirm Conley is being held there.

Snyder, his son and his grandfather all lived in the home and were in the process of being evicted by Conley.

We spoke with Conley the day after the shooting who said he was questioned by police for nearly 3-hours.

"It's a shocking deal to see something like this," He said. "You don't see something like this every day"

Marion Conley could be in court for an arraignment as early as today.
