Suspects arraigned Thursday in Bedford Twp. shooting death'

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Two men were formally charged Thursday with the murder of a Battle Creek man.

Both 24-year-old Christopher Felton and 21-year-old Ghermell Bolden were arraigned in the murder of 27-year-old Allyn Reeve Jr., who was found shot once in the chest in his home on Tuesday.

Both men face a long list of charges, including felony murder.

Ghermell Bolden was the first to go in front of the Calhoun County Magistrate.

He answered with only "No sir," and "Yes, sir," as his long list of charges was being read.

He faces six counts, including felony murder, which carries a life sentence.

Christopher Felton though answered he didn't understand the charges, and repeatedly said "I want to be treated as a soverign citizen."

He faces eight counts, including murder.

Bolden and Felton were arrested within just a few hours of Reeve's shooting.

Police believe Reeve was shot by the two men during a robbery attempt when they were looking for marijuana and money.

Reeve himself called 9-1-1 to report someone broke in after he was shot, and then he hung up.

Felton also has three prior convictions which add to the penalties on some of his new charges.

Bond was denied for both men.
