Waterfront Film Festival reveals film choices
SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Some of the headliners were announced Thursday for this year's Waterfront Film Festival.
Thursday evening, the films were announced at the festival's new home in South Haven.
With the 15th annual festival kicking off in mid-June, the announcement is getting everyone along the lakeshore excited.
Especially with the news that three movies will be making their midwest premiers in South Haven.
With part of the lineup now released, there's something for everyone.
Muscle Shoals, the look at a small southern town that draws in big names in music; Blackfish, the documentary of a killer whale that claimed three lives in captivity at Sea World; and for those who love a good scare, VHS 2, the follow-up to a horror film that chronicles the search for a missing student.
Organizers say these films and as many as 70 others, along with a new home in South Haven, will breathe new life into the festival, after the city promised to help raise funds if the festival would call the city home.
From theater improvements to accessibility downtown, South Haven is ready to welcome thousands from across the globe, and Waterfront is ready for what promises to be their largest event yet.
The Waterfront Film Festival kicks off in South Haven on Thursday, June 13th, and the festival hopes to have tickets on sale by Memorial Day weekend.
