Alamo Drafthouse to host 'Anti-Hunger Games' as new movie comes out

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The new Alamo Drafthouse cinema is officially open for business in downtown Kalamazoo.

And one of the big movies hitting the big screen this week is The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

To mark the occasion, the Alamo is teaming up with Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes to host the Anti-Hunger Games.

The theater will collect non-perishable food items to help prevent people from going hungry during the holiday season.

The Alamo will start taking donations Wednesday through December 9.

Everyone that makes a donation will be entered to win free movies, gift certificates, and other prizes at the Alamo.

There will be multiple collection bins in the theater lobby.
