WIND ADVISORY

10 AM Until 2 AM Saturday

The National Weather Service maintains a WIND ADVISORY for nearly all of West Michigan from 10 AM this morning until 2 AM Saturday morning.  45 mph gusts are likely inland while 50 mph gusts are possible at the Lake Shore.  This kind of wind is capable of bringing down tree branches and creating some power outages.  Obviously, we hope that doesn't happen.  Winds blow from the northwest this morning then from the north by midday and beyond.  Stay with wwmt.com for your weather today and always!

Texas cop's act of kindness goes viral

ROSENBERG, Texas (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Dash cam video capturing a heartwarming interaction between a police officer and a boy is going viral.

The Texas police officer, Sgt. Ariel Soltura was on patrol Saturday when he came across a young man in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

He was tossing a football all by himself.

Sgt. Soltura said he got out of his car and showed the boy he wanted to play.

"And at that time you just saw his face, just lit up, and he was ready to play," he said.

The two tossed the ball back and forth for just about two minutes, then the officer got back to work.

Later that day, the police department posted the spur of the moment game of catch on its Facebook page.

Hours later, it had about a quarter-of-a-million likes.

Sgt. Soltura says he was just doing what his department urges them to do--get involved with the community.

The young man involved says he now wants to be a police officer--or a football star.
