Police chief hits pedestrian
HOUSTON, Texas (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Houston's Police Chief is accepting a one day suspension without pay after hitting a pedestrian and it was all caught on camera.
In the video above Chief Charles McLelland was behind the wheel of his city-owned Jeep.
He turned left and hit James Harris, a local attorney, and sent him across the road, breaking one of his arms.
McLelland said he did not see Harris crossing the street.
The chief did not get a citation, but says the price of the suspension without pay is more than a ticket.
