Colorado community rallies after school shooting

COLORADO (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A Colorado community rallies following the death of a high school girl a week after she was shot by a classmate.

17-year-old Claire Davis died Saturday afternoon.

She had been in a coma for eight days after she was shot point blank in the hallway at Arapahoe High School.

Police say the shooter, 18-year-old Karl Pierson, shot her at random before turning the gun on himself.

A memorial was set up at the high school and hundreds showed up for a vigil, trying to cope with the tragedy.
