Video raises security concerns for Winter Olympics

SOCHI, Russia (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A new video has surfaced from an Islamic militant group in Russia that raises new security concerns about the upcoming Olympic Games in Sochi.

In the video two men say they have a "present" for tourists at the Olympic Games, which are now just weeks away.

An Islamic terrorist group from Russia is behind the video. They also claimed responsibility for the recent terror attacks in Russia that killed 34 people.

The Russian government says it will do whatever it takes to make the games safe.

Russia has spent $2-billion securing the Olympic site, using 40,000 police and military officers.

However, American security experts are saying attacks could most likely happen outside the area.

"They don't want to admit they don't have complete control here and that they might need some help," said former Deputy CIA Director Michael Morell.

"This is an organization that is dedicated to violence for its political gain.  They have publicly stated they want to target the games; they have already targeted security in the region," said Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI).

Earlier this month the State Department issued a warning saying the Olympics are "an attractive target for terrorists."
