Amtrak trains stopped in Illinois by snow

ILLINOIS (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The blowing and drifting snow in north-central Illinois has completely stopped three Amtrak passenger trains heading for Chicago.

An Amtrak spokesman says more than 500-passengers are aboard the trains.

Thankfully the passengers were able to stay on the warm trains.

BNSF Railroad employees worked through the night to reopen the tracks to get the trains moving again.
