Snow brings traffic to a standstill in Atlanta

ATLANTA, Georgia (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Many people in the south are still stranded after an extremely rare snow and ice storm that brought two inches to the area.

Traffic on the freeways around Atlanta is at a standstill in many areas. Some cars were stuck there for more than 12 hours.

Many southern cities were unprepared for the snow and ice because they have very few, if any, snow plows.

Many children had to spend the night at their schools, because busses couldn't bring them home.
