Delay in rescue for passengers of frozen ship

ANTARCTICA (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A trip back to land is on hold again for more than 50 scientists and tourists who were rescued from their Russian vessel stuck in the ice in Antarctica.

The passengers were rescued from the icebound ship by helicopter just Thursday.

They were headed for Australia, but now the icebreaker they're on has been told to stay put because a Chinese icebreaker that supplied the helicopters fears it may get stuck in the ice as well.
