Plow driver in pregnant NYC woman's death ticketed

NEW YORK (AP) - A mini-snowplow driver has been ticketed but not charged after fatally striking a pregnant New York City woman whose baby was delivered by emergency cesarean section.

Police say 42-year-old Wu Wu was issued summonses Friday for not having the vehicle inspected and not having a headlamp or a license plate light. No criminal charges have been filed.

Officials say Wu was driving the small construction vehicle that hit Min Lin while she loaded groceries into her car Thursday during a snowstorm in Brooklyn.

Lin's nearly full term, 6-pound, 6-ounce baby was delivered by C-section. Hospital officials did not return calls on the child's condition Friday.

Roommate Song Qing Huang said the 36-year-old Lin considered staying home but decided to go out because she had an appointment with her obstetrician.

A phone listing for Wu could not immediately be located.
