Missouri executes convicted killer

MISSOURI (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Despite a successful lawsuit over a lethal injection drug, convicted killer Michael Taylor was executed early Wednesday morning in Missouri.

Taylor was lethally injected just after 1:00 a.m. for the abduction, rape and killing of a Kansas City teenager 25 years ago.

Federal courts and the governor refused last-minute appeals from Taylor's attorneys.

They were arguing the drug pentobarbital could have caused Taylor inhumane pain and suffering.

Taylor even sued an Oklahoma pharmacy that supplies the drug, which agreed not to sell it to the prison.
