911 call released from mother driving into ocean

DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - We're now hearing the 911 call from the sister of the woman who drove her car in to the ocean in Florida.

"My sister was getting abused by her husband. I tried to take her to the hospital but she checked herself out," said the sister. "She's talking about Jesus and demons in the house."

Daytona Beach police now say they stopped 31-year-old Ebony Wilkerson just two hours before she drove her minivan into the ocean.

They say she seemed alright and the kids seemed safe so they let her go.

Bystanders and officers on the beach rescued her and her children, ages 3, 9 and 10, from the Atlantic Ocean.

Wilkerson is now undergoing a mental health evaluation.
