Pick-up driver relates experience after being hit

IOWA (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - An Iowa man whose pick-up truck went flying across two interstate lanes, narrowly missing a trooper's squad car, lives to tell his story.

"It all happened so fast. I didn't know what was happening until I was in the ditch," said Dana Miller. "When I saw the video, it did not look like me. I thought, 'who in the heck survived that?' I thought it was odd."

45-year-old Dana Miller was on a routine drive in his company's truck last Friday. Iowa State Patrol says Miller merged into the left lane on I-80, slowing down as he approached a crash on the right.

That's when a semi, that going too fast, struck him and pushed him across both lanes.

We're also getting a look at the crash from inside the squad car..

Officers say the video is an example of why drivers need to slow down when approaching accident scenes.

No one was seriously hurt.
