House passes rollback on flood insurance rate hike

WASHINGTON, D.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The House has agreed to roll back a rate hike for flood insurance.

Passed with bi-partisan support, the move comes after homeowners complained about increases from a two-year-old law aimed to get homeowners off subsidized policies.

The new bill allows sellers to pass along their insurance rates to new buyers and lowers the cap on the amount premiums can be raised every year.

This bill now heads to the Senate for approval.
