Career choice study involving Barbie and Mrs. Potato Head

OREGON (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - An experiment conducted by an Oregon State University researcher suggests girls playing with Barbie could limit how girls view their career choices.

Girls ages four to seven played with either a Barbie doll or a Mrs. Potato Head for a few minutes and then were asked about possible career choices.

Girls who played with Barbie thought they could do fewer jobs than boys. Those who played with Mrs. Potato Head thought they could do about the same.
