Police: Pa. student flashed 2 knifes, injured 20

MURRYSVILLE, Pa. (AP) - A school police officer has been treated and released from a hospital, after being injured while ending a stabbing attack at a high school near Pittsburgh.

Police say a 16-year-old boy who was armed with two knives began stabbing and slashing other teens at the school this morning, leaving as many as 19 students injured. Four of them suffered serious wounds, but hospital officials say all are expected to survive.

The suspect is in custody, and investigators are trying to determine a motive. They're looking into reports of a threatening phone call between the suspect and another student the night before.

The police officer subdued the suspect with the help of an assistant principal.
