American manufacturing a rising star

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - It is another good sign of economic recovery. A new report shows America is positioned to become a rising star in manufacturing.

The study was conducted by the Boston Consulting Group.

It says rising wages and higher energy costs have helped diminish China's long-standing edge over the United States.

The report found five economies generally regarded as low-cost bases for manufacturing like China, Brazil and Russia are getting more expensive, while the U.S. and Mexico are getting cheaper.
