Monica Lewinsky speaking out over Clinton scandal

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Former White House Intern Monica Lewinsky is telling her story to Vanity Fair. It's the first time she's speaking out about the Clinton scandal.

Lewinsky, who is now 40, says while she admits former President Bill Clinton took advantage of her, the real abuse did not start until after the relationship.

She says Clinton's inner circle tried to discredit her and his opponents used her as a pawn.

Lewinsky adds she believes she's the first internet scapegoat and wants to speak out on behalf of other victims of online humiliation.

Her confession comes at an inopportune time for the Clinton family politically, as former First Lady Hillary Clinton considers a bid for president.
