WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY

Through 8 am

The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for the following counties in West Michigan, effective until 8 am Friday: Barry, Calhoun, and Eaton. Pockets of freezing drizzle may make hazardous driving conditions in the Advisory area, particularly on less-traveled, rural roads. The freezing drizzle is expected to end shortly before daybreak. Because of the potential for slick spots on area roads, drivers all around West Michigan should use a little more caution on this morning's commute.

Classes to resume after student shot in the head

GEORGIA (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Classes are expected to resume Tuesday after a student was shot in the head at Paine College in Georgia.

Police say 21-year-old Jajuan Baker is fighting for his life after another student opened fire during a fight Monday.

The 21-year-old suspect is now in custody.

The campus was on lockdown for hours. The shooting happened only hours after another took place in the male dorms on campus Sunday night.

In that incident one person was injured by debris from a wall.

Students say the violence needs to stop.

"You come here to get an education, a higher education at that. You shouldn't be worried about violence or anything of that nature at all," said student Jonathan Richey.

"You should be safe on campus. You go there to have a good time and enjoy the good years of your life. You shouldn't have to worry about stuff like this," said student Jon-Tyler Shaw.

Authorities say they plan to beef up security after these two incidents.

Students are now planning a prayer vigil at the chapel on campus.
