Hillary Clinton drawing heat over comment on finances

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Hillary Clinton is taking heat for a comment she made during an interview with ABC News.

Clinton complained about not having money when her family left the White House.

"We came out of the White House not only dead broke, but in debt. We had no money when we got there and we struggled to piece together the resources for mortgages for houses, for Chelsea's education," said Clinton.

Clinton's opponents immediately jumped on the fact that Clinton said "houses" plural.

America Rising the leading anti-Hillary Super Pac tweeted pictures of the Clintons two multi-million dollar homes and their Hamptons vacation rental.

However, 55-percent of Americans believe Clinton understands their problems, according to a new ABC News Washington Post poll.

Still, it's the kind of misstep Clinton needs to avoid as she gears up for a number of interviews.
