WIND ADVISORY

10 AM Until 2 AM Saturday

The National Weather Service maintains a WIND ADVISORY for nearly all of West Michigan from 10 AM this morning until 2 AM Saturday morning.  45 mph gusts are likely inland while 50 mph gusts are possible at the Lake Shore.  This kind of wind is capable of bringing down tree branches and creating some power outages.  Obviously, we hope that doesn't happen.  Winds blow from the northwest this morning then from the north by midday and beyond.  Stay with wwmt.com for your weather today and always!

Police ID victim of Oregon shooting as 14-year-old

TROUTDALE, Ore. (AP) - Authorities have identified the student killed by a teen gunman at a high school in a quiet Columbia River town in Oregon. The shooter also injured a teacher before he likely killed himself.

Troutdale police Chief Scott Anderson said Tuesday in a news conference that the 14-year-old victim was a freshman at Reynolds High School who was killed in the boys' locker room.

Anderson says the boy was "loved by all."

He said earlier the name of the gunman is being withheld until his family is notified.

Police spotted the suspected shooter slumped on a toilet in a bathroom

The teacher's injuries weren't life-threatening, and he was treated at the scene. He has been identified as Todd Rispler, a 50-year-old physical education instructor, and police say he initiated the school lockdown procedure.
