Subway strike in Brazil before World Cup

SAO PAULO, Brazil (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - With just two days to go before the World Cup begins in Brazil, a strike by subway workers has paralyzed Sao Paulo.

Police fired tear gas in an effort to disperse protests in support of the strike.

Subway workers say they will suspend the work stoppage for two days to focus on negotiations, but that means the strike could resume Thursday.

That's the day the tournament's first match will be played in Sao Paulo.
