Late-summer scorcher expected in Lower Michigan
DETROIT (AP) - It's going to be a hot one in much of Lower Michigan.
National Weather Service forecasters are predicting high temperatures in the 90s from Detroit to Grand Rapids on Tuesday.
It's not expected to be quite as hot in the northern reaches of the Lower Peninsula with highs in the 80s in Traverse City and Ludington.
And it'll feel more fall-like in the Upper Peninsula with predicted high temperatures in the 70s.
Meteorologist Rachel Kulik tells AnnArbor.com that she's encouraging those in southern Michigan to stay out of the sun if possible. For those who have to be outdoors, Kulik says they need to stay hydrated and dress appropriately.
Temperatures statewide are expected to drop considerably by the end of the week.
