New bill could expand alcohol sale hours in Michigan
LANSING, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Bartenders could be pouring drinks for longer if lawmakers in Lansing take up a new bill.
The bill would extend last call by two hours--until 4:00 a.m.
Right now, it's illegal to sell alcohol between the hours of 2:00 and 7:00 a.m.
If the bill passes, bars and businesses would have to buy a special after-hours permit every year, costing around $10,000.
The proposal could go before a Senate committee in the next few days.
