WIND ADVISORY

10 AM Until 2 AM Saturday

The National Weather Service maintains a WIND ADVISORY for nearly all of West Michigan from 10 AM this morning until 2 AM Saturday morning.  45 mph gusts are likely inland while 50 mph gusts are possible at the Lake Shore.  This kind of wind is capable of bringing down tree branches and creating some power outages.  Obviously, we hope that doesn't happen.  Winds blow from the northwest this morning then from the north by midday and beyond.  Stay with wwmt.com for your weather today and always!

70 bills waiting for governor's signature

LANSING, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - More than 200 new laws passed through the Michigan legislature, and about 70 more are awaiting the governor's signature after a final burst of voting.

This year's top laws include the landmark expansion of government-funded medical coverage to hundreds of thousands more low-income adults and restrictions on insurance coverage of abortions.

Lawmakers also increased spending to send more disadvantaged 4-year-olds to preschool and approved a one-time increase in road funding while ignoring Snyder's request for a permanent increase in gasoline taxes and vehicle registration fees.
