2 overnight stand-offs in Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - It was a busy night for police in Battle Creek as they had to deal with two separate standoff situations.

The first happened just before 2:00 a.m. at an apartment on Arbor Point Drive. Police responded to a call of a shot fired.

They say a 24-year-old man fired a shotgun outside his apartment and when police arrived he refused to come out.

He eventually surrendered when police brought an armored vehicle to the scene.

Then, as officers were leaving that address they were called to another home on Maple Terrace where a man had fired a gun with two kids in the house.

Police used a loudspeaker and convinced the man to surrender. The children were not hurt.
