Paw Paw woman arrested for suspected DUI after crashing into a pole

PAW PAW, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A 33 year old Paw Paw woman has been arrested after crashing a car into a utility pole in Van Buren County.

It happened just after 1:30 Tuesday morning in the 100 block of West Michigan Avenue.

Van Buren County Sheriff's Deputies were called to the scene after the driver hit the pole. The report claimed the driver was attempting to flee.
When Deputies arrived they found two people at the scene which turned out to be the driver and a passenger.

Deputies determined the woman was driving the vehicle when she left the roadway and struck a utility pole which caused it to break in half.

Both the driver and the passenger were uninjured in the crash.

The driver was found to be intoxicated with a BAC of .223.

 She was lodged at the Van Buren County Jail for operating while intoxicated second offense.
