S. Haven tenatively awarded $750K by MEDC

SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - News just released Wednesday could help brighten up and modernize downtown South Haven.

The West Michigan beach community has just learned that it has been tenatively awarded $750,000 by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

The grant will go toward the Phoenix Street Improvement Project, which involves reconstructing Phoenix Street from Broadway Avenue to Kalamazoo Street.

It's mainly an infrastructure upgrade, which includes some streetscaping improvements.

The city will also launch wireless Internet.

City officials say the project will enhance visitors experience to South Haven.
